Flaming Creature 3 Parade will occur on Goverors Island on October 18th, 2025 at 6pm (or when darkness arrives). Illuminated by 1000s of LEDs and led by top NYC musicians, this parade will feature the Governors Island waterfront with river sounds and city light backdrops. Participants (you) will wear costumes (or carry lanterns, luminaries or art props) of the native species of Governors Island. Celestial bodies are excellent additional costume ideas.  

Come as early as 2:30pm on Saturday, October 18 for workshops on lantern and costume building with Sally Beauti Twin and friends. Next to our parade gathering, catch a 3:30 performance, “Junkanooacome: Da Red Set,” by Jodie Lyn-Kee-Chow, and inflatable art by Mookntaka with projections by Jarid Blue. 

We expect 250 people to parade this year so why not build costumes and props with us early at free weekend workshops!! These will be Saturdays and Sundays at Governors Island, October 4,5 and 10,11 from noon-5 at Colonels Row House 405B (Duye Moves). We will provide fabulous cloth, structural materials, lights and more.
