5. Workshops
2024: Go Fly a Kite at Art Crawl Harlem
I taught a series of workshops on kitemaking and selected dichromatic films and flat black acryclic paints so the symmetrical motifs could project onto the ceiling.

2024: Costume and Luminary Making at Flux
I love offering luminary and costume making workshops in the weekends that precede parades. Materials are nearly 100% upcycled from MFTA and found cardboard.

2024: Kite Making at Shaker Museum, New Lebanon
I brought my kite making supplies to my Shaker Museum art residency: dremel, bamboo, twine, mylar, tissue, dichromatic film and taught kite making to Darrow School faculty and Shaker Museum visitors.

In weeks preceding (and the day of the parade) I held an outdoor mask and luminary making workshop and an indoor ecological discussion that was paired with group movement activities.

2022: Costume + Puppetry at Governors Island and Stephen Street Gallery (Ridgewood)
Workshops were held for weeks prior to the 2022 parade with instruction in paper maché and bamboo costume, puppetry and prop making.
